Mindful Loving: 10 Practices for Creating Deeper Connections

Marriage and relationships can often be challenging. From the moment we started dating, we read this book and made it the backbone of our relationship over the years. We believe that traditional marriage counseling is ineffective because it tends to focus on getting your partner to change in an effort to appease your needs. There are typically two possible outcomes to that strategy: 1) they don’t change or 2) they change and then resent you for it. Mindful Loving is a masterclass in learning that nothing anyone else does can make you happy or unhappy. All love, happiness, and peace come only from within, so it’s up to you to change your perspective on your relationships. Once you reach that understanding, you may decide that the other person doesn’t fit into your life the way you once thought, in which case it may make sense to move on. But chasing the common “if only my partner would…” approach is an exercise in futility. This book probably saves more relationships for under $20 than spending $10,000 on professional counseling.
