Cran’ Stand The Holidays – Hump Day Happy Hour with #Lockwoodeffect
It's almost Thanksgiving, but it's also 2020 and officially Christmas season. So we're making a cocktail that compliments both holidays: Cran' Stand The Holidays. Although we very much LOVE and CAN stand the holidays :)
This cocktail is a cranberry and rosemary-simple-syrup-infused gin cocktail. But most importantly, it's festive, fun and it works great for a Thanksgiving dinner in a home full of Christmas decorations. 'Tis the season!
Here's the recipe (per serving, so multiply as necessary):
1.5 oz gin (we use Leopold Bros Navy Strength or Summer)
.25 oz orange liqueur (triple sec or similar. We use Leopold Bros Orange Liqeur)
.5 oz FRESH-SQUEEZED lime juice
.75 oz rosemary simple syrup (bring equal parts white sugar and water to a boil, remove from heat, add a bunch of rosemary, and let steep for 1-2 hours while it cools)
In a shaker, mix one spoonful of fresh cranberries with the ingredients above and plenty of ice. Shake vigorously (you want to break up the cranberries with the ice) and strain into a Collins (tall) glass full of ice. Stop about .5 inches from the top so you can top with club soda and stir slightly to mix. Garnish with a few cranberries and a sprig of rosemary.
