Sleeping with elephants in a jungle bubble in Chiang Rai, Thailand

After spending 3 nights in Bangkok, where the world was our oyster, we’re flying to the northern Thai city of Chiang Rai for a more off-the-beaten-path experience.

We’re spending two nights in a riverfront jungle compound that’s just a stone’s throw from the neighboring countries of Myanmar and Laos. On the final night we’ll be sleeping under the stars, in a big clear bubble, among a community of beautiful rescue elephants—at one of the top eco resorts on the planet.

The entire experience is another illustration of augmenting our kids’ online schooling with real-world interactions, but it’s particularly special because elephants have always been Brooklyn’s favorite animal. Like, since she was a baby. So we’re excited to see how her first actual encounter affects her appreciation for these incredible creatures.
