We’re on a whirlwind tour through Europe and after starting in Florence and making our way to Milan, we’ve left Italy and landed in Paris, France. This is our family’s first trip to The City of Lights and there’s way too much to see and do in just four days. So, we’re pausing our new mission of living like locals and focusing instead on finding as many authentic and kid-friendly sites and bites as we can get our chilly little hands on.

This week, we’ve retraced Leonardo da Vinci’s steps from nearly 550 years ago as we’ve left Tuscany’s Florence and trekked north to the finance, fashion, food and design Mecca of Milan in Italy’s Lombardy region.

Today, we’re back in Florence, Italy and we’re meeting our past guide and current friend, Silvia Ponticelli, to give her a tour of our 600-year-old palazzo on the Arno river—and for her to walk us through the history of Florentine Fashion.
