NEW GIVEAWAY! We're making Milk Punch??? 🥊 Hump Day Happy Hour

We have a new winner and a brand new cocktail!

Have you ever heard of milk punch? I haven't. At least not until a childhood friend told me about it. It's a process of making what I would describe a mixer/simple syrup/liqueur... drink thing.

It's totally new to me and I had to start the process two days ahead of time. But I'll tell ya... It was fun and easy to do.

At least 2 days ahead of time:

* 2 cups of brandy

* 1 orange and 1 lemon rind

Put the brandy and rinds in a close lidded container and let sit for 2 days.

Making the punch:

* 1 cup

+ 1 tbsp of sugar

* 2 cups of water

* 1/4 cup of orange juice (no pulp)

Stir all ingredients together until sugar is dissolved

* 1 cup milk (whole milk or cream is best - the more fat in the milk the better) Add the milk and let curdle for at least 1 hour.

Then strain the liquid mixture through cheese cloth or coffee filter.

* We used coffee filters but that process took a long time because the filters we bought were pretty small. Once it's all strained, you can refrigerate until you're ready to use it.

The cocktail:

* Milk punch

* Gin (you could use vodka but gin is much better!)

* Club soda One shot of the punch and one shot of gin (make it #lockwoodeffect and add a bit more), then simply top with club soda and pour over ice. If you want to make it straight up, shake and pour into a frosted glass before adding the club soda.

It could be fun to use champagne or sparkling wine to make champagne cocktails!
