In this episode, our family made the one-day journey from our home on Coronado Island (California) to Nantucket Island (Massachusetts) via Denver and Boston. We'd booked a 4-night stay in a private, 3-bedroom house situated right on the marina, giving us waterfront access to great views and one of our 8-year-old son, Colt's, favorite activities: crab hunting.

With all of our travels to exotic locations and all of the adventurous excursions we undertake while there, we found ourselves falling into a false sense of security. But just because we have a professional guide and just because thousands of others may have done the same thing prior to us doesn't mean a particular activity is safe.

In what was certainly our most exciting travel day so far, our yacht captain took us to 3 Exumas hot spots: The Washing Machine, swimming in the middle of a shark feeding frenzy at Compass Cay, and playing with the swimming pigs on the world famous Pig Island!

On our first day at sea for our 5-day, private yachting trip through the Exumas island chain in The Bahamas, our trusted captain and guide took us to "Iguana Island" and the famous drug-running airplane wreckage off Norman's Cay. And what an exciting start to our voyage these adventures were!

Our recent trip to The Bahamas was actually a 2-part adventure, with the first 5 days spent in and around our private villa on Pink Sands beach and the following 5 days... sailing through the Exumas on a private yacht! The yacht charter had been in the works for months—it would be our first overnight on the ocean and certainly one of our most expensive trips ever. Our 6th trip started off with a culinary bang! Chef Hector Leyva picked us up at our villa in Punta de Mita and took us on a market tour of Mercado del Mar at La Cruz de Huanacaxstle –A neighboring, small village, to Punta Mita.

You can meet the most fascinating people when you travel. We did! After we took a sleigh ride up an Aspen mountain, we got a little stuck – and had a better experience for it.

I've heard people talk about how beautiful the Maroon Bells are. They're right. The mountains are breathtaking, especially in the snow. Only negative was how cold it was... but hot chocolate helped.

What? There's a roller coaster in the mountains? Yup. Actually, Aspen is known to be Hollywood in the mountains, but we found the main attraction – the alpine coaster.
