We chartered a FULLY-CREWED private mini-yacht to Cozumel for a day. Was it worth it?

This was one of the absolute best days we've ever had as a family! It only took two tries :D

Our 9-hour yacht excursion to snorkel and play in the sun in Cozumel is at the top of our favorite things list. When we were brainstorming about what to do in Cozumel, the idea of spending the day on the water kept coming up in our minds. We wanted our kids to experience some of the best snorkeling in the world. So we booked a full-day yacht charter... First attempt was on Tuesday, but the waters were too choppy and there were a lot of reasons for us to turn back. We gave it the old college try but the kids weren't enjoying the rough waters, the crew was working harder than they should, and the snorkeling visibility was going to be poor. So before we got too far on our 2-hour boat ride out to Cozumel, we decided to turn back and figure out a new plan. Always be changing!

We were so grateful Friday was going to be our new date for this journey. And we had no idea how epic it was going to turn out to be. The sun was shining, the wind was calm, and there was a new air of excitement. It. Was. Perfect. Everything down to the food and temperature of the water. The kids had the time of their lives playing in the ocean as if it was their backyard. Phil and I couldn't have been happier. It gave us an enormous sense of gratitude.

There are so many people to thank for this perfect day:

  • Ricardo Bahena – Operations Manager for The Yacht Experiences — was an absolute rockstar. He is the man responsible for rebooking an okay day on the sea for an epic day on the sea.

  • Belu – Host with The Yacht Experiences. Not only is she a fabulous host who made sure we were comfortable and happy at every corner, but our kids fell in love with her. Brooklyn didn't want to leave.

  • Captain Moises – Captain with The Yacht Experiences. He was our captain twice! We felt safe, even in the choppy water. And he found the perfect spot for us to anchor and make the Cozumel waters our playground.

  • Chef Ivan – Chef with The Yacht Experiences. The food was incredible! It was beyond our expectations. I'm still dreaming about that seared salmon sashimi and the shrimp aguachili. I think we might still be stuffed from eating so much great food from the moment we stepped on board to the moment we stepped off.

  • Efren – Sailor with The Yacht Experiences. He made our adventure smooth sailing (no pun intended). He was such a big help and a contribution to the success of the day, in the water and on-board.

  • Vicki – Host with The Yacht Experiences. She was our host on the first day we tried to go out, and she was fantastic. Another big hit with our kids :)

  • Maritur DMC – Inspirato and our resort, Banyan Tree Mayakoba, hooked us up with Maritur. They helped us with all of our Riviera Maya adventures, even this perfect day.

Inspirato – Our new obsession. We're not just obsessed with travel, we're obsessed with Inpirato travel. Our expectations are blown away on every single trip. The fact that we can have this level of service at the price we pay, blows our mind. The value strongly outweighs the cost. Now that we're members, we can't imagine travel without Inspirato.

Our hearts are so full! If you're ever looking for things to do in Cozumel, make sure to check out The Yacht Experience. It was the most incredible Cozumel Mexico experience. This experience has really energized our whole family to spend more time on the water. We've got big plans coming up in April when we go to the Bahamas...
