Secret Beach in Costa Rica // Playa Penca // Inspirato Pass Vacation

While Phil and Reagan where out SCUBA diving in the Pacific Ocean, Colt, Brooklyn and I had a little adventure of our own. Our amazing Inspirato concierge team told us about a secret beach not far from our villa. Rumor has it, Playa Penca is the best snorkeling spot in the area!

At first I made the wrong turn at the wrong gate house, but eventually we found our way to the bumpy dirt road that was supposed to lead us to the beach. We drove as far as we could until we had to get out and walk the rest of the way. It's only about a mile more on foot, but it's a clear path. The views are amazing the whole way. But nothing could hold a candle to the scenery once you reach Playa Penca. It was magnificent.

So many great features about this beach! The water is more clear (hence why it's a great snorkel spot), the sand is a beautiful and smooth white, and there is a large tide pool area. We didn't actually snorkel since we didn't bring our gear, but the tide pool was more than enough sea life to keep Colt occupied!

This spot was a true Costa Rican treasure. A must visit if you're ever in the country.
