Marriott Expands Luxury Safari Offerings in Kenya
The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp
After a couple of great collabs with Marriott Bonvoy in 2024 — and as Marriott Travel Planning Partners — we’re big fans of Marriott and have enjoyed a wide variety of adventures within their family of brands. Well, now Marriott International is tapping into the growing demand for high-end safari experiences with the launch of two exclusive tented camps in Kenya. Set to debut in 2025 and 2026, these properties will operate under the prestigious Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott brands, offering travelers a luxurious way to explore Africa’s stunning landscapes and wildlife.
The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp (Opening August 2025)
Located within the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, this safari camp will provide guests with a front-row seat to the Great Migration and the region’s abundant wildlife. The camp will feature 20 tented suites, including an opulent four-bedroom presidential suite, all designed for comfort and immersion in nature. Each suite will include private plunge pools, spacious sunken lounges, and both indoor and outdoor showers.
Dining experiences will range from a gourmet restaurant and curated wine cellar to an open-air stargazing deck and a traditional African boma. Additional amenities include a spa, outdoor gym, swimming pool, discovery hub, map room, and photography studio.
JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp
JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp (Opening Early 2026)
Nestled within the 45,000-acre Solio Game Reserve—renowned for its successful rhino conservation efforts—this camp will offer a more secluded safari experience. The reserve is home to a significant population of black and white rhinos, making it a prime destination for conservation-minded travelers. The camp will provide an immersive stay with thoughtfully designed accommodations that blend luxury with sustainability.

A Growing Trend in Luxury Travel
Marriott’s investment in these high-end safari camps reflects a broader industry trend, where affluent travelers are seeking exclusive, experience-driven adventures. The company is rapidly expanding its luxury portfolio, with over 530 properties as of late 2024 and more than 260 additional locations in development.
As interest in luxury safaris continues to rise, major hospitality brands are positioning themselves to cater to this demand, offering travelers both adventure and indulgence in some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations.
